Standard vats

UpNano’s vat printing mode leverages specially designed metal vats that securely hold your selected resin during the print process. Each vat features a precision glass window at the base, allowing the laser to focus through the resin onto the selected substrate. This setup enables high-resolution 2PP 3D printing with a wide range of benefits.

EFFICIENT RESIN USAGE
Print up to 40 mm in height using only the resin needed, reducing waste and cost. Leftover resin can be stored in the vat with a lid for dust-free storage for future prints.

CONVENIENT HANDLING
Easily swap resins, objectives, and substrates for quick setup. Supports stepwise multi-material and multi-objective printing for maximum flexibility.

SUPPORTS ADVANCED MATERIALS
As the NanoOne is an open material platform, standard  vats are compatible with abrasive and composite resins, making it ideal for R&D and projects using rare or limited materials.

PROTECTS OPTICS
Prevents resin contact with objectives, minimizing cleaning, reducing contamination risk, and extending the life of high-performance optics.

  • Magnetic base for precise and repeatable placement in the machine
  • Protective lid to keep resin free from dust and contamination during storage
  • Accommodates various substrate sizes ranging from 10 x 10 mm² to 40 x 40 mm²
  • Overspill protection ring with visual alignment markers

Borderless vat

Print across the full substrate surface without physical boundaries. Designed to support custom and wafer-based substrates up to 50 × 50 mm. Available in air or oil immersion versions, these vats provide enhanced flexibility and are ideal for wafer printing and large area precision applications.

BORDERLESS VATS
  • Compatible with standard UpNano resins and silicon or glass/borosilicate wafers
  • Printing with liquid resins is possible on wafers up to 2”
  • Print on custom substrates which exceed standard vat sizes
  • Print objects beyond standard vat surface area limitations

WD+ vat

The WD+ vat is designed to enable a greater vat working distance compared to standard vats. This makes it especially well-suited for specialized applications, such as printing within recessed areas, like optics on diodes, or fabricating taller structures within a single field of view (FOV).

Maximum working distance with WD+ vat

20x objective: 508 µm

40x objective: 288 µm

  • Optimized for use with liquid immersion objectives
  • Specifically developed to extend the working distance when using high-resolution objectives
  • Equipped with a 12 µm thin polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) foil instead of the standard glass window
  • Foils are user-replaceable; spare foils are included in the WD+ vat kit
  • Similar configuration to the borderless vat, designed for substrates up to 50 × 50 mm

Single bare optical fiber and fiber-optic ferrule

Engineered for micro-optics printing directly onto the tip of a single optical fiber or ferrule – ideal for applications like custom endoscopic components.

  • Allows for custom functionalizing of single fibers such as optical sensors
  • Automatic fiber core alignment via integrated Think3D software feature
  • The kit supports fibers with a cladding of up to 1 mm and 2 mm to 4.5 mm diameter ferrules

Fiber array holder

Designed for simultaneous printing on multiple fiber cores, this holder is ideal for fabricating micro-optics on
fiber array adapters used in telecom and photonics. Equipped with automated core detection of up to 8 fibers in a single print, significantly simplifying setup and boosting throughput for complex multi-part builds.

  • Automatic fiber core alignment via integrated Think3D software feature
  • Printing on up to 8 fibers in a single print job

Wafer chucks

Open 3D printing platform for novel material development and the production of micron and sub-micron scale structures.

Wafer chuck set (1”, 2”, 3”)

This vacuum-based chuck set supports standardized
wafers commonly used in the semiconductor industry.
Compatible with pre-coated wafers or liquid resin printing when used with the borderless vat, this set is ideal for advanced material development and high-volume production workflows for microelectronics and
photonics.

Variable tilt insert

Included with every NanoOne system, the universal stage insert enables compatibility with a wide range of commonly used substrates, supporting adaptable experimental workflows across research, product development and bioprinting applications.

  • Standard accessory included with the NanoOne printing platform
  • Supports the use of widely available substrates such as petri dishes, cover slips and well slides
