Commissioning and Production Engineer (f|m|d)

Full time (Permanent employment) | Hybrid | Vienna 

As a key member of our technical team, you will play an essential role in delivering cutting-edge technology to some of the most advanced research and industrial facilities worldwide. Your tasks will include:

  • Installation and commissioning of UpNano systems at world-class institutions and industry leaders across the globe
  • Execution of test protocols and system acceptance procedures, ensuring precision and customer satisfaction
  • Hands-on support in the assembly and calibration of our high-resolution 3D printing systems at our headquarters
  • Detailed documentation of installation and service procedures to maintain quality standards and continuous improvement
  • Technical support and consultation for customer applications, helping clients unlock the full potential of 2PP technology
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with global pioneers in science, healthcare, microengineering, and advanced manufacturing—while working with one of the most innovative teams in the 3D printing industry.

To thrive in this role, you bring a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset, and a passion for working with innovative technologies in an international environment. We are looking for candidates with:

  • A completed technical degree (HTL, FH, or University) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, (laser) physics, or quality control
  • Hands-on experience in equipment development, assembly, or technical service—ideally in a high-tech or precision manufacturing setting
  • A flexible, team-oriented, and solution-driven approach with a readiness to take initiative
  • Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written); German language skills are a plus
  • Willingness to travel internationally and represent UpNano at customer sites and installations around the world

Salary
The actual minimum salary is 3,400 € gross per month (on a 38.5-hour basis), the actual salary depends on your qualifications and experience. The salary is paid 14 times per year.

Software Developer C++ (f/m/d)

We are currently looking for a Software Developer C++ (f/m/d) to further expand our development team at our Vienna location. Your Responsibilities

  • Development, optimization, and further advancement of modern C++ software modules
  • Contribution to architecture and design decisions for complex systems
  • Ensuring high performance, stability, and scalability of developed components
  • Debugging, analysis, and solving challenging technical problems
  • Integration of external interfaces, frameworks, and libraries
  • Collaboration with product management, development, and other technical teams
  • Contribution to the improvement of internal tools, workflows, and CI/CD processes
  • Working on software that closely interacts with hardware components
  • Creation and maintenance of clear technical documentation

 

Your Profile

Must‑have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Several years of experience in modern C++ development (C++20 or newer)
  • Experience with functional programming
  • Strong knowledge of OOP, software design, and system architecture
  • Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization
  • Strong knowledge of STL, memory management, and standard libraries
  • Experience with CMake or similar build systems
  • Experience using Git in professional environments
  • Strong debugging skills (e.g., gdb, Valgrind, profilers)
  • Proven ability to effectively work on large, complex, and long-evolving codebases

 

Nice‑to‑have:

  • Knowledge of networking, IPC, or low-level/system programming
  • Experience with Linux/Windows and POSIX APIs
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks
  • Kotlin knowledge is a plus
  • Experience with network protocols
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines or automated build processes
  • Basic knowledge of Docker or virtualization
  • Scripting experience (e.g., Python)
  • Experience in agile software projects

Your Responsibilities

  • Development and further advancement of modern, cross-platform applications based on the Qt framework (Qt Widgets and/or QML)
  • Implementation of high-performance and maintainable C++ logic in conjunction with UI components
  • Close collaboration with UI/UX design to create intuitive, responsive interfaces
  • Optimization of application performance, responsiveness, and memory management
  • Integration of external frameworks, libraries, hardware interfaces, and communication protocols
  • Creation of unit tests and active participation in code reviews

Your Profile

Must‑have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • Strong knowledge of C++ (ideally C++17/C++20 or newer)
  • Professional experience working with the Qt framework (Qt Widgets, QML is a plus)
  • Understanding of 3D graphics pipelines, rendering technologies (OpenGL, Vulkan), or similar technologies
  • Experience in developing cross-platform applications
  • Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and software architecture
  • Confident experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Strong debugging skills and a structured, clean working style
  • Experience writing unit tests (QtTest, Boost.Test, or similar frameworks)

 

Nice‑to‑have:

  • Experience with embedded systems or hardware-related software development
  • Knowledge of CMake or modern build/dependency tools
  • Experience with Qt Quick / QML-based UI development
  • Practical experience with DevOps pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
